GEOLOGY
Geology is an earth science comprising the study of solid Earth, the
rocks of which it is composed, and the processes by which they change.
Geology can also refer generally to the study of the solid features
of any celestial body (such as the geology of the Moon or Mars).

EARTH SCIENCE
Earth science or geoscience is an all-embracing term referring to the fields
of science dealing with planet Earth. It can be considered to be a branch of
planetary science, but with a much older history. There are both reductionist
and holistic approaches to Earth sciences. The formal discipline of Earth
sciences may include the study of the atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere,
and biosphere. Typically, Earth scientists will use tools from physics,
chemistry, biology, chronology, and mathematics to build a quantitative
understanding of how the Earth system works, and how it evolved to its
current state.

WHAT IS
GEOSCIENCE?
Geoscience (also called Earth Science) is the study of Earth. Geoscience
includes so much more than rocks and volcanoes, it studies the processes
that form and shape Earth's surface, the natural resources we use, and
how water and ecosystems are interconnected. Geoscience uses tools and
techniques from other science fields as well, such as chemistry, physics,
biology, and math!
