SECTION 1
THE
DEEP WEB
The Deep Web (also called the Deepnet, Invisible Web, or Hidden Web) is
World Wide Web content that is not part of the Surface Web, which is
indexed by standard search engines. It should not be confused with the
dark Internet, the computers that can no longer be reached via the Internet,
or with a Darknet distributed filesharing network, which could be classified
as a smaller part of the Deep Web. There is concern that the deep web can be
used for serious criminal activity.

DEEP WEB

indexed by standard search engines.

SECTION 3
DARKNET
A darknet (or dark net) is an overlay network that can only be accessed
with specific software, configurations, or authorization, often using
non-standard communications protocols and ports. Two typical darknet
types are friend-to-friend networks (usually used for file sharing
with a peer-to-peer connection) and anonymity networks such as Tor
via an anonymized series of connections.
The reciprocal term for an encrypted darknet is clearnet or surface web
when referring to search engine indexable content.

SECTION 4
DARK WEB
The Dark Web, also confusingly referred to as the Deep Web and
conflated with Deep Web search is the World Wide Web content
that exists on darknets, overlay networks which use the public
Internet but which require specific software, configurations or
authorization to access. The Dark Web forms part of the Deep Web,
the part of the Web not indexed by search engines.
