begins to fail, leading to some of

infections.


Infection with HIV
occurs by the transfer

semen,
vaginal fluid,
Cowper's fluid
or breast milk.


The three major
routes of
transmission:

unprotected sexual
intercourse,

contaminated needles,

transmission from an
infected mother to her
baby at birth or through
breast milk.
